Dr. Tingting Zhang is an assistant professor at the School of Labor and Employment Relations at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research within industrial relations focuses on unions as organizations, which applies organizational theory to examine unions’ internal function and strategic choices. In employment relations, she studies various training and development mechanisms both within and outside organizations, examining how occupational regulation and the emergence of nondegree credentials influence the workers' career outcomes. Her work has been published in several scholarly journals, including ILR Review, British Journal of Industrial Relations, Industrial Relations Journal, and International Migration Review, among others.
