Ron McCallum AO

We are delighted to introduce you to one of our newer editorial committee members, Professor Ron McCallum AO. Professor McCallum is one of the world's leading labor law specialists and a former Dean of Sydney University’s faculty of law. Professor McCallum’s scholarly contributions transcend the arena of employment’s relations. For example, he was nominated by the Australian government to stand as an independent expert for the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In the 2006, Professor McCallum was awarded the designation of Officer in the Order of Australia for his services to tertiary education, for industrial relations advice to governments, for assistance to visually impaired persons and for social justice.

Professor McCallum’s recent publications and his abridged biography are on our website. Here are two of his scholarly contributions :
1. “Health and Safety and the Environment” in James Flemming (Ed), The AIER Model for the Future of Work”, (Hardie Grant Books, Melbourne, 2022), Ch.3, pp.52-69.
2. “Afterword” in Eric Tucker and Judy Fudge (Eds), The Class Politics Of Law: Essays Inspired By Harry Glasbeek, (Fernwood Publishing, HALIFAX & WINNIPEG, 2019), pp 209-218.
